Can you be counted on?

A General was about to embark into a very critical battle. The outcome of the entire war hung on the upcoming face-off. As he made plans, another high-ranking commander asked him, "Which regiment will you be taking with you on this all important battle?"

The General looked over who was available. The first group of men he came to brought this remark. "I am unsure about these men. They have never proved they can be depended on."

He came to a second group of men and noted, "I have seen these men in action. Sometimes they are very dependable to get the job done, but other times they have failed to complete their tasks. They are inconsistent. I never know which way they will go when the battle starts."

The General finally came to a group of weather, battle strong men, with fire in the eyes and a passion in their steps. The General said confidently, "These are the men I will bring with me. I have seen them in action in the fiercest battles. They are faithful to the task. They are always dependable. I know that I can always count on them to get the job done, no matter what the odds are, no matter what the situation is not matter who the enemy is. I can always count on them to get the job done.

What about us? When our Father in Heaven has a task for us to complete, can we be counted on? What group are we in? The group of Christians who have never proved their faithfulness to the Father; the group of Christians that sometimes can be counted on and other times not; or are we in the group of Christians who the Lord can always count on to get the job done, no matter what?

Christian, can the Lord count on you?
